SEO Hacks You Can Do Right Now

Did you know? Over a third of all Google traffic only goes to the first result page? Therefore, your content needs to rank in the first few results if you want people to click on it. Not only that, it is best to at least be in the top 10 results even to receive any significant traffic at all. How do you help your page to be ranked on the first page of results? SEO is the answer!

SEO refers to various tactics to boost your position in rankings. Still, it’s not always the easiest thing to figure out. Luckily, there are several things you can do to improve SEO and get higher traffic:

Target Long-Tail Keyword

To have a good SEO campaign, you need to have keyword integration. In addition, you must target specific keywords that people search and include those keywords in your content to have a good shot at ranking for any Google searches. But, it’s crucial to choose the right words. Long-tail keywords are those that are several words long instead of a single word. These types of keywords are the best to target because they have a specific search intent. That way, when people search for them, they already know what they want to find.

Write Evergreen content

First and foremost, what is evergreen content? Like evergreen trees that remain fresh all year round, evergreen content is a type of content that stays useful and relevant. But how do you do that? An easy way is to avoid any trending topics that will date your content later down the line. Now, when you see some of your content becomes outdated, simply update it, so it still drives traffic.

Focus On The Search Intent

Keywords are an essential tool for increasing your rankings, but it doesn’t mean you should shove them into your content. Safe to say, it won’t automatically drive results. To rank on the first page, you have to craft content that would address the user’s search intent. This search intent is the ‘why’ on why users search for the keywords. For example, suppose you’re writing content that targets “Sunshine Lawn Service”. In that case, you need to ensure that your content provides what users are searching. To do this, you can look at the search results that are currently top ranking.

Optimize Images

There are more to your content than just the text on your website. In order to improve your SEO, you should also optimize the images you use. You can do this by doing several things. Firstly is to compress your images. If an image file is too large, it will slow down the page load speed, ultimately making users click the back button rather than waiting for it to load. When they do this, Google will automatically think that your site is not relevant to search results. Another thing you can do is to use alt tags for your images. These are short descriptive text blurbs that you can attach to your images. So, Google can’t read an image of an orange, but it can read the alt tags that say “Fresh Orange”. In doing this, the image can now contribute to the page’s relevancy and will help improve rankings.

Have Convincing Titles And Meta Descriptions

You should keep in mind that you need to get more traffic to rank higher, but when a page receives a lot of traffic, it goes up in rankings–in other words, it works both ways. Therefore, it must be ensured that your content attracts users when it appears in search results. To do this, you can start by crafting compelling and convincing titles. A juicy title tag users will most likely click on it. A great way to do this is to use numbers and enticing adjectives. For example, “5 fantastic reasons to…” or “3 reasons why…” But remember to keep these title tags under 60 characters and include your core keyword. As for the meta description (the small blurb under the title tag), you can try to summarize the page. However, remember to keep meta descriptions under 160 characters and including your core keyword is also a must here!
