Key Insights

  • Separate automated submissions, duplicate conversion events and genuine enquiries that don't fit your offer.
  • Verify form protection on the server and test its effect on legitimate buyers before tightening rejection rules.
  • Return reliable qualified-lead outcomes to advertising so raw submissions don't define campaign success.

Your Indonesian sales team says the latest Google Ads leads are spam. The report shows rising conversions at a lower cost, while the CRM contains repeated messages and contacts nobody can reach. The agency proposes excluding more locations. The website team proposes adding another form challenge. Neither proposal establishes what created the records.

Start by separating the failures. An automated submission, a duplicate tracking event and a real person requesting the wrong service need different corrections. If every rejected enquiry shares one label, the team can block legitimate customers while continuing to reward a broken conversion event.

Ask your Google Ads agency to trace the path from ad interaction to form acceptance and CRM qualification. Fixing that path requires campaign, website and sales owners to work from the same evidence.

Turn “spam” into categories the team can act on

Review a recent sample across the main forms and campaigns. Keep the original enquiry available to authorised reviewers and record why each submission was rejected. Distinguish suspected automation, obvious duplicate requests, invalid contact details and genuine requests outside the business's scope.

Avoid deciding from one field alone. A personal email address doesn't establish automated abuse. Repeated contact details could belong to a buyer following up after receiving no response. A short message may be a real enquiry from someone who expects a telephone conversation. Let evidence from the submission and subsequent handling determine the category.

Look for patterns that can be investigated: bursts of near-identical messages, impossible field values or requests reaching a form endpoint without a valid submission sequence. A pattern is a reason to inspect the system, not proof that every request from the same network is fraudulent.

Genuine misunderstandings need their own remedy. If people are applying for work, inspect the invitation and destination. Recruitment intent entering Indonesian sales forms calls for clearer commercial context and an appropriate careers route. A bot filter won't correct what a real person thought the offer meant.

Find where a submission becomes a conversion

Ask the developer to demonstrate when the form is accepted, when the CRM record is created and when the advertising conversion fires. Those moments can differ. A conversion attached to a button click can count an unsuccessful attempt, while a confirmation page can fire again when someone reloads it.

Test a successful request alongside validation failures and repeat submissions. Check both the visible confirmation and the backend result. The sales team should be able to recognise one accepted request in the CRM and the measurement owner should explain which event represents it.

Google's transaction-ID guidance describes how unique identifiers can prevent duplicate conversions for the same conversion action. Have the implementation owner confirm the appropriate method for your conversion setup. Reusing one identifier for unrelated requests can suppress genuine conversions, so a deduplication change needs a repeat-request test as well as a successful first submission.

Keep business duplicates separate from measurement duplicates. One person submitting twice may generate two real requests that sales should consolidate. One accepted request generating two advertising events is a tracking fault. Repeated real requests may need consolidation in the CRM; duplicate advertising events need a tracking correction. Inspect both before changing form handling.

Verify protection where the server accepts the request

A protection badge on the page doesn't prove the server rejects invalid submissions. Ask for evidence that the backend validates the protection response before accepting the request or triggering downstream automation. Otherwise an attacker may bypass the visible form entirely.

For reCAPTCHA v3, Google's implementation guidance explains that responses carry a risk score and an action name. The backend must check the expected action. Google also advises using observed traffic to choose thresholds, including an initial period of monitoring without taking action.

Its separate verification documentation states that response tokens expire after two minutes and can be verified only once. The integration needs to obtain and verify a current token at the appropriate point in submission. A stale token can reject a real person who spent time preparing a detailed request.

Combine risk signals with proportionate controls. Depending on the form and abuse pattern, the technical team may use rate limits, hidden-field checks or additional verification for suspicious requests. Define what happens when a check fails: rejection, a retry or a review queue. Each option has a customer-service consequence that should be visible to the people handling enquiries.

Protect access for legitimate Indonesian enquiries

Test the changes with the devices and connection conditions present in your actual customer base. Include a longer completion time, a retry after a failed request and a visitor returning to finish the form. Check the language of validation and error messages on each maintained version.

Be cautious with broad network or location blocks. A company network can serve several legitimate people, while a prospect's location signal may differ from the intended delivery location. A campaign service-area decision and a form-abuse decision need separate evidence.

Watch for silent failures. A buyer who sees a success message should have an accepted request and a route into follow-up. Someone whose request was rejected needs an intelligible recovery path. If the alternative is a telephone number or email address, confirm that the route is monitored and that staff know why the customer may be using it.

Review a controlled sample of rejected requests under the organisation's access and retention rules. The purpose is to detect false rejections and improve the control. Campaign reporting usually needs aggregate categories, not copies of people's messages or personal details spread across presentations.

Give advertising a stronger success signal

After submission integrity is working, examine what the campaign is learning from. If every accepted form is treated as equally valuable, the optimisation system has little reason to favour requests sales can progress. Form protection and commercial qualification need to connect without becoming the same judgement.

Google's qualified-lead and converted-lead guidance supports recording later outcomes from a CRM or internal lead system. Start with an outcome your team captures consistently, with the necessary permissions and a verified import path. A label applied differently by every salesperson will make a weak signal travel faster.

Keep raw submissions visible as a diagnostic alongside accepted enquiries and qualified outcomes. Compare the cost and volume of each stage after a control changes. Fewer submissions can be a good sign when abusive requests fall, but it can also mean genuine customers are being blocked. Sales review and rejection checks establish which explanation fits.

Hold Your Google Ads Agency in Indonesia to a Verified Enquiry Path

Choose the form generating the largest disputed volume and trace a sample through server acceptance, conversion recording and sales classification. Agree one correction, its owner and the evidence needed to judge whether it worked before expanding the change.

If spam is distorting your media decisions, bring Digital Squad the form and conversion path behind your Indonesian Google Ads campaigns. We can help identify whether the priority is abuse prevention, measurement repair or the qualified-demand feedback that connects spend with sales.
